MISSION STATEMENT

We are a citizens' group dedicated to leading a community-based process to develop and continually improve a greenway and nonstop bikeway along the 29th Street railroad corridor in Minneapolis.

We will:

CONNECT the Chain of Lakes to the Mississippi River with a greenway and nonstop bikeway, providing pollution-free transportation and recreational, cultural and historic amenities.

CREATE paths for safe, fast and pleasant walking, biking and rolling, urban green spaces, and opportunities for public art.

INVOLVE local communities in decisions, planning and implementation, partner communities with public agencies, private institutions and businesses.

PROMOTE personal health, environmental values, and civic interaction as well as residential, commercial and light industrial development to strengthen core urban neighborhoods.

The Coalition Board of Directors includes one seat for each of the 16 Neighborhoods along the Midtown Greenway/Lake Street corridor, and four at-large seats.
