Lyndale Avenue Transit Plaza

Future rail transit along the Midtown Greenway will likely bring transit stations to Lyndale and Nicollet Avenues on the south side of the Greenway floor, where current adjacent lands are privately owned. With the suggestion of such locations, it is recommended that the development of such sites should allow for public open space that provides graceful access into the Greenway and place-making in the Greenway down at the elevation of the transit and trails. Discussions have begun regarding a transit plaza at in the Greenway serving LynLake.  Discussion participants so far include the Coalition, the LynLake (Business) Association, the Midtown Community Works Partnership, and the City of Minneapolis through their 2008 planning effort to create a land use plan (LynLake Small Area Plan).
