Program Description
Join the Green Team!

You can be a part of something that’s exciting, important, fun and, well, green; THE MIDTOWN GREENWAY COALITION’S ADOPT A GREENWAY PROGRAM! This program provides an exciting opportunity to create community ownership and pride in our Midtown Greenway. The Midtown Greenway Coalition believes in a safe, clean, green Greenway and knows that this will only happen through the participation of groups like yours.

Who: Community groups, schools, businesses, churches, and other volunteering groups who wish to make a difference and become a vital member of the Greenway community.
Four different groups will be jointly responsible for the same area, creating the opportunity to work together on cleanups if desired and lightening the workload for each adopter.

When: Participating groups will be responsible for two cleanups a year over a two-year period. Cleanup times will be set by the adopting party and should be reported to Midtown Greenway Coalition seven days prior to the event.  Adopters are also encouraged to help establish or maintain plantings with in their section of the Greenway.

Where: Adopters will be responsible for a roughly four-block section of the Greenway, chosen by the adopter in cooperation with the Coalition.

How will you benefit from becoming an Adopter?

  • Your organization’s contribution will be recognized in our quarterly newsletter, on our website, and on a creatively designed sign along the Greenway. You can receive effective promotion for your group while helping out your neighborhood.
  • You will receive a certificate to display.
  • You will receive special attention at Midtown Greenway Coalition’s annual meeting.
  • You will automatically become a member of the Midtown Greenway Coalition.
  • Most importantly: You will be actively working to make your community a better place to live and work.
