Tommie Williams, chair of Georgia's Senate Transportation Committee is working to bring an eight-mile streetcar line to Peachtree Street in Atlanta. The Atlanta-Journal Constitution quoted him as saying:

"People come to Portland, Oregon, just to ride the streetcar. I can't imagine people coming to Atlanta just to ride the bus."
